Two things must first be addressed: How we intend to get the traffic and how much we want to spend.<br /><br />The best advice that I can give to you is that if you are on a limited budget to spend very little at the beginning. There are several key things that must be done to get heavy traffic to your site.<br /><br />The most important thing you need to do to get traffic to your site is to optimize it so the site is search engine friendly. This is very important for Google. If you are not a programmer, please think hard about hiring one. It will some of the best money you spend if you find a good one! Google needs to be able to spider your site's pages and without that, you are not going to get much visibility unless you are paying for advertising. I know firthand how much time can be wasted because of poor optimization. You can have a great site and still not be seen.<br /><br />Secondly, inbound links are extremely necessary to the popularity of the site. If you do a check for link popularity on <a href="http://www.submitexpress.com/">SubmitExpress.com</a> you will be able to check yours and your competitor's links for the major search enginges. SubmitExpress.com also has articles which are informative about Search Engine Optimization.<br /><br />The best way to find links that are relevant to your site is to do a link search for one of your competior's who has a high ranking and follow his example.
